Winter Skin Care Routine

Categories Favourites, Review

Hello my darlings!

If you’re anything like me, winter time + your skin = not the best combination. Skin gets so dry and using agressive products only makes it worse. I feel like I’ve somewhat mastered my skin care routine. Took me a long ass time, but I’m very happy with how my skin looks now, compared to what it was one or two years ago. Of course, I still have imperfections, but I strongly believe that those are what make each and every one of us perfect in our own way.

First and most important- DRINK!

And no, I don’t mean alcohol, I mean water or tea, anything to stay well hydrated. I didn’t believe this until I tired it myself. Honey, don’t make the same mistake as me and just take my word for it because it really does make a differnce. Your skin will clear up and be less dry, I promise. Sadly though, I am one who constanly forgets to drink because of my busy schedule and many of my friends have pointed out that they have the same problem. I tried having reminders on my phone or in my planner and honestly, as lazy as I am, it didn’t do much for me. The only thing I noticed that has really helped me was buying a very aesthetic, very instagrammable water bottle. For some reason it really motivates me to drink more, and if you have the same problem as me I would really recommend trying it. Of course, there are many options out there. I chose the Equa watter bottle and I am really pleased with it. It is really easy to clean and it survives pretty much everything even though it’s glass (and trust me, I’m a really clumsy girl).

The next tip would be to find a moisturizer that suits you and STICK TO IT. Use it religiously. I tend to reach for my Nivea Refreshingly Soft Moisturizing Cream or the Himalaya Herbals Energizing Day Cream twice a day on a regular day, in the morning before I put on my make-up and before I go to sleep. I do sometimes forget to apply it when I’m in a hurry and I really do notice a big difference.

For other parts of my body I recently started using the Nivea Smooth Sensation Body Milk. I’ve only used it a couple of times but I’m very pleased with it so far. It sinks in quickly and doesn’t leave my skin oily. It isn’t scented which I really like because I’ve been experimenting with parfumes recently and mixing scentes is not a very smart thing to do. Ever.

If you’re not one for moisturizeres, I would highly recommed getting something along the lines of a spray or a lighter cream. For my easy days, I always use the Lush Tea Tree Water. Even when I’m at just at home, I reach for it everytime my face is feeling a little dry. It always leaves my skin clear, glowy and fresh. And as with any product by Lush, it’s cruelty free, which is always a big plus for me.

I hope you liked this post. If you have any recommendations or requests on what products to try in the future, feel free to leave it in the comment section below.

Have a lovely day,

yours truly.
